Generating evidence for policy and practice

Generating evidence for policy and practice, London, UK

5 – 8 July 2022

STEPPS assembles policymakers, policy evaluators, academia, data scientists, knowledge mobilisers and governmental and parliamentary strategists. This member based Network fosters international dialogue for building and disseminating evidence to stimulate the effectiveness of policy interventions.

Worldwide, the momentum for evidence informed policymaking has been strongly stimulated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Policymakers and politicians are now stressing the crucial importance of generating access to the right data, research outcomes and proven effective interventions to address urgent societal challenges. Recently, many innovations have occurred to improve and support the interaction between research and policy.

From July 5 to July 8 STEPPS organizes the course ‘Generating evidence for policy and practice’. This four day Course takes place at UCL, with the support of its EPPI-Centre, which has been working to promote evidence-informed policy and practice since the early 1990s.

The (concept) program, which is available at the 'view program' button above, gives an informative description on the subjects that will be discussed each day.

Participation includes:

  • Daily lunches and drinks
  • Reception Tuesday July 5
  • Course dinner Thursday July 7
  • Course reader and background literature
  • Welcome dinner at July 4 (optional)

The deadline for registration is June 13!
