STEPPS is managed by ScienceWorks, an intermediary that has been active for the past decades to support the transfer of scientific knowledge to society from its office in The Hague, The Netherlands. Developing and managing international networks to connect science & practice is its core competency. This resulted in networks such as ASTP (the European organization on Knowledge Transfer, 1999), DCRF (national network on Clinical Research, 2009) and AESIS (the global Network on stimulating Impact of Science, 2015).
